Samira Said

Samira Said is a Moroccan-Egyptian singer and songwriter.

She is a popular and highly respected artist in the Arab world, and has won numerous awards, such as world music award and BBC award, for her music and her work on behalf of women's rights.

Ms. Said was born in Morocco. She began her singing career at the age of 9 and quickly became a star. She has released over 50 albums, 800 songs and she has collaborated with many international artists, including Cheb Mami. 

Ms. Said is also a committed activist for women's rights. She is a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), and she has worked on a number of projects to promote women's empowerment. She is also a vocal critic of honor killings and violence against women. Ms. Said is an ambassador for the Strengthening Egypt's Family Planning Program, which promotes family planning and healthy lifestyles in Egypt.

Ms. Said is an inspiration and role model for women in the Arab world.
