Jane Waite

Jane Waite works in WFP’s Cairo’s Regional Bureau heading up the Social Protection Unit, who provide technical support to WFP’s Country Offices across the region. 

Jane has some 18 years of experience, spanning the areas of social protection, strategy design, emergency preparedness and response, vulnerability analysis and UN reform.

Jane worked with WFP for over 8 years in the MENA region and in contexts offices including Egypt, Cambodia, Sudan, Malawi, as well as in WFP’s New York Office.

Jane has previously worked for the British Red Cross, and with several NGOs including the International Rescue Committee, GOAL and Action Contre La Faim, and started off her career in the private sector as a strategy consultant.

Jane has undertaken post graduate studies in Development Management, as well as in Economics, and has a first degree in Economics from Durham University in the UK.
