Maha Mowafy

Maha Mowafy is Reproductive Health and Family Planning specialist in United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Egypt country office.


Dr. Maha worked as the Regional Coordinator for RH in Crisis in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region with the Women’s Refugee Commission (WRC).


She led the organization and moderation of regional conference for the interagency working group (IAWG) for Reproductive Health in crisis, in Amman. 


In addition, she moderated the sessions for the Arab State and MENA regions in annual meetings for IAWG in Senegal & Greece. 


Likewise, to the global H6 partnership meeting in Amman. Dr. Maha has over a decade of experience in working with international organizations, managing regional and international programmes addressing Reproductive Health and Family Planning. 


Furthermore, Dr. Mowafy supported Community Education and Advocacy with Susan G. Komen for the cure, USA. Professor Maha Mowafy graduated from Kasr Al-Ainy School of Medicine, holding doctorate degree in Family Medicine. 


Dr.Maha has postgraduate qualifications for professionals in Humanitarian fromGeneva Centre for Education and Research in Humanitarian Action from University of Geneva.


She earned Research Ethnics from University of Maryland School of Medicine, USA. In addition to holding advanced degrees in Health Care Management &Health Economics.


She is a professor of Family Medicine and the former director of Family Medicine Department, Cairo University.
