Abla Al-Alfy

Abla is a member of the Egyptians Parliament, health affair committee and leading the subcommittee of maternal, child health and family planning. 


She is an international pediatrician, with experience in neonatology, and medical education.


She is a certified international lactation consultant, a child advocate, nominated as the chief supervisor of the presidential initiative Golden 1000 days for Family development.

 

She is the RCPCH regional adviser for MENA region, hosting RCPCH examinations, since 2008.


She designed a Diploma in Child Health” accredited by American Academy of continuing professional development. 


She shared the development thesecond edition of IYCF, “a model Chapter for textbooks for medical students and allied health professionals, and joined the panel developing the clinical guidelines for the Skin to Skin care, published, 2023


She is a member of the scientific council of the Egyptian Paediatric Board of the Military Medical Academy, the scientific Paediatric board of the Egyptian fellowship and Neonatal Fellowship. She supervised 22 theses, shared writing 5 books, and published 18 papers, in lactation, paediatrics and neonatology.

 

Awards: RCPCH Gold Medal, Healthy Children Project award for optimizing child health in Egypt. She was nominated as "Mother of the Egyptian children, 2019.


Many awards forthe world success story, for the successful separation of craniopagus parasitic twins, 2007 

She founded her NGO to optimize child care in Egypt, 2007 then nominated as Ashoka fellow, 2013.

 

Career: started in UK and Gulf region, promoted to head of neonatal department in Kuwait for 10 years, appointed as Ass.


Professor at Kuwait University for 10 years.


Egypt: head of Paediatric department at Mansoura insurance hospital, Benha children hospital then Galaa military compound.

 

She was graduated from Mansoura University, “with merit”, received her postgraduate education in the UK, Ireland and Egypt.
