Augustine CHIEW

Augustine is part of the Global Public Sector team in Huawei with more than 26 years of experience in digital transformation. Prior to joining the company, he spent 17 years in the Singapore Government and 3.5 years as a Consulting Executive in a leading global firm specializing in public sector digital transformation.

During his time in government, Augustine held various appointments in operations, strategic planning, organization development, international cooperation and industry incubation. He was involved in multi-disciplinary ICT project teams looking at crisis management, information management systems, video surveillance as well as data analytics. In Consulting, he operated at the intersection of business and technology, undertaking lead roles in projects spanning strategy design, change management, business process optimization, operating model design and organization structure redesign within the Health and Public Sector.  

Within Huawei, Augustine works closely with the solution teams leveraging innovative and emerging technologies to develop leading ICT solutions for government agenciesand enterprises. He has worked closely with clients on digital government, safe city, smart city, healthcare and education projects across the Asia Pacific, Middle East andAfrica to enhance operational governance and service delivery optimization.

Active on the international cooperation and collaboration front, he has served as the Vice-Chairman of the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation Working Group (2012-13) looking at the application of new technologies and the Chairman of the INTERPOL Expert Group on Cybercrime (2012-13) to create a safer cyberspace for all.
