Chris Cormency

Chris Cormency is the Regional WASH and Climate Change Advisor for the UNICEF office for the Middle East and North Africa.  Prior to joining his current position, Chris worked in a number of other UNICEF offices, including the WASH chief in Mozambique, the Chief of the Water, Sanitation and Education Centre in UNICEF Supply Division, the Regional WASH Advisor for West and Central Africa and as the WASH Chief in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

 

In his current role, Chris is responsible for rolling out the UNICEF regional Accelerator on climate change and water scarcity.


 The accelerator initiative supports UNICEF country offices in the region to implement priority, multisectoral interventions that address the climate change threat to child survival and development.

  

Chris has Masters and Bachelors degrees in Engineering and has authored papers on water quality, water flow modelling and photovoltaic fabrication.
