Cristina Albertin

Cristina Albertin, UNODC Regional Representative for the Middle East and North Africa has been working for the United Nations for the last 30 years in different capacities around the world including WFP Bolivia and UNODC in HQ, Latin America, Asia, and Africa.


Since 2007 she has been serving as UNODC Representative for Bolivia, South Asia (based in India), Nigeria and now MENA (based in Egypt).


In her work she focusses on the comprehensive implementation of all UNODC mandates across the region under a people-centered, inclusive, rule-of- law and human rights-basedapproach delivering justice for all. 


Ms. Albertin also pays specific attention to the right of health for all, and especially vulnerable groups and individuals discriminated against such as people who use drugs and people living with HIV and often hidden populations, such as women who use drugs.
