Tobias Krause currently serves as Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Cairo (as of September 2023).
Before that he served as Deputy Head of Mission of the European Union to Egypt since 2020.
In previous positions he worked from 2003 in the Middle East Department of the Federal Foreign Office; in 2005 he switched to the German Embassy in Ryadh; from 2009-2011 he worked in the Protocol Department of the Federal Foreign Office; from 2011-2013 he worked in the German Embassy in Ankara; from 2013 he was Deputy Head of Mission at the German Representative Office Ramallah; From 2016-2020 he worked in the Delegation of the European Union to the International Organizations in Vienna.
Tobias Krause is married with two children and he holds a degree in law.
He pursued his studies in Trier, Madrid and Munich. He speaks German, French, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Turkish and Hebrew.
